Assistant Manager- Procurement
A Category Assistant Manager will have daily exposure to a wide range of procurement related business activities at the company. This category is critical as it covers a significant spend and severely impacts the India Top Line business.
This role includes all aspects of procurement including Commercial Negotiations with strategic Vendors, supplier network strategies, bringing innovation from the Supplier Market into the company, Cost Improvement Initatives, Inflation Management and Mitigation, Supply continuity and management, monthly reporting of KPIs and performance measures.
The position will be responsible for managing approximately $21 million in spend related to Johnson & Johnson consumer India.This role will require collaboration with key stakeholders and teams both in our regional and global offices.
This individual will also provide Procurement Leadership on projects related to New Product Development or New Product Upgrades, Compliance projects and Cost Improvement Initiatives for India/Asia Pacific Markets.
Key Responsibilities as a Strategic Sourcing Professional
Lead Packaging Sourcing Strategy in India on key Categories – Primary and Tertiary Packaging
Manage and Drive Global Strategies within APAC and Drive flawless execution at country level.
Support Country’s incremental Management Targets to improve GP for the business.
Manage Country OTIF, NC, CAPA Targets for Packaging Suppliers
Improve E2E Network Value (reliability, agility, cost improvement, supplier innovations introduction, sustainability footprint enhancement, etc.)
Support the Technical Team and Regulatory Team in enabling compliance of Printed Material and Suppliers to constantly changing Regulatory Landscape and Changes to J&J Requirements.
Support New Site Introductions by developing a near site ecosystem for PMs
The Manager-Category Lead’s scope of responsibilities include:
Complete Sourcing P&L Management – Spend, Inflation, Deflation, Currency Impact, Cost Improvement
Annual Business Planning and tracking on monthly performace Vs Plan on key performance measures
End to End Supplier Management – Commercials, Innovations, Supply Disruptions, Procure to Pay
Compliance to J&J Internal Systems and Processes – Change Management Controls, CAPAs and Investigations, Supplier Audits and Qualifications, New Material Qualifications
Leadership on Projects – New Products, Sourcing Changes, Supplier Innovations, Compliance Projects, Supplier Led Specification Revisions etc
Leadership on Category at India, Regional and in some cases Global levels
Torubleshoot chronic systemic issues (if any) on an as needed basis by understanding the problem – exposure to transaction systems(SAP) and other software overlays within the organization will be required.
Required Minimum Education: Masters or Equivalent
Required Years of Related Experience: 6+ Years in SC of which 2+ Yrs in Procurement
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Uncompromised requirements for the role):
Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management).
Leadership, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills are required
Able to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary.
Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with J&J Management)
Project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skill
