DHL Express is looking for an Project Manager – Engineer to join and lead our team. He/she will be responsible to identify, evaluate and implement infrastructure projects namely Expansions, Relocations, Reengineering & Refurbishment. Design MHS & Facilities in line with Global & Regional standards. Additionally involve in improvements in the processes and handling/distribution operations throughout the country in line with Network and Regional Standards

Key Responsibilities

He/she will have to perform the following key activities:

Country Operations and Regional Engineering:
Act as a strong communication link between Country and Regional Engineering staff.
Provide engineering services to the other Country under the Management of Regional Network Operations Engineering.
Country Operations:
Provide Industrial Engineering expertise, techniques and methodologies/structure to direct the country in improving service, processes, productivity and profitability.
Develop short & long term plans in the areas of facilities, equipment, and network for the country.
Assisting in conducting Training programs for local country staff.
Regional Engineering:
Provide suggestions to Regional Engineering on self-developed areas of improvement.
Vendors/Contractors:
Manage engineering projects, vendors, and contractors Cost exposure – Euro 10,000 -5,000K per project.
Consultants:
Work with consultants to implement change.
Other functions:
Work with the other functions eg CS, IS, Finance, Marketing to resolve issues.
Support and provide operations or local input to GMNC, Logistics, Hub or Gateway.
Regional Operations Team:
Work closely in the implementation of regional and global initiative at a country level with the Regional Operations Team
Participate in regional workgroups and activities.
Operations Improvement Deployment:
Identify and implement improvements in the areas of business activities, sequence of operations/work flows, staffing, handling methods and equipment.
Ensure cost effective selection and location of local facilities (City Master Plans) and equipment
Ensure optimization of network/land transport and courier routes (ROAM)
Prepare facility plans and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency and space usage
Ensure implementation of Regional Standards for processes, work methods, performance/throughput standards and measurement systems
Use MSD or other work measurement tools (time and motion studies, etc.)
Perform engineering and financial analyses of proposals along with sound economical and business justifications for expenditures.
Operations Improvement Support
Assist in implementing required changes in implementing Regional Standards
Assist in monitoring productivity and service and cost performance.
Assist in preparation of CAAs, AOPs & long range plans for expansion, procedures, staffing, equipment, vehicles and products.
Assist in conducting local training programs
He/she should maintain employee Satisfaction and unplanned staff turnover.
He/she should ensure employee development and employee accountability and performance.
Develop a high performance service culture within the functional department. Plan, organize and direct and efficient and effective functional department.
Develop IKOs/KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
Consult performance appraisal.
Manage the allocation of appropriate resources and commitment of staff to the achievement of Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets.
Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional department.

Skills Required

Communication skills (English), spoken and written
Software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Software skills (Visio, AutoCAD)

Profile Requirements

(Experience/Certifications/Qualifications/Licenses)

8-10 years’ experience in Project Management involving Infrastructure development
Experience in areas of material handling equipment, productivity improvement, work measurement, work methods and standards, financial analysis
Experience in the express package, transportation or material handling industries would be beneficial.
Degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Certification in PMP preferred

Profile Requirements
